Massage Therapists assess and treat physical dysfunction and pain of the soft tissue and joints of the body, mostly by hands-on manipulation.
Assessment and treatment can include orthopaedic and neurological testing, soft tissue manipulation (Swedish massage is the most commonly used technique), hydrotherapy, remedial exercise programs and client education programs.
Jamie and Aleksandra spend the time with each patient to go over their goals of treatment and take the appropriate actions to customize a treatment plan that is best for them. Jamie and Aleksandra both bring experience and different modalities into the treatment room to ensure each patient receives quality care!

Swedish Massage
Swedish Massage is the most common form of Massage Therapy. This type of Massage offers relaxing techniques that can be used for many benefits including reducing stress, decreasing muscle tension, and relaxing the body. Swedish Massage can also target areas of trauma or injury and help reduce pain. Your RMT will create a treatment plan with you based on your individual goals to ensure they are providing you with the most beneficial care.
Deep Tissue Massage
Deep Tissue Massage (can also be referred to as Sports or Athletic Massage) is similar to Swedish Massage but utilizes techniques that are administered to affect the deeper layers of musculature and fascia. Deep Tissue Massage helps with chronic muscular pain, injury rehabilitation and reduces inflammation-related pain caused by arthritis and tendinitis. This type of Massage manipulates the web of connective tissues that surrounds supports and penetrates the muscles.
Cupping
Cupping therapy is an ancient form of alternative medicine in which a therapist puts special cups on your skin for a few minutes to create suction. This treatment has many purposes including pain management, tissue health and healing, reduce inflammation, increase circulation, treat adhesions and increase mobility and range of motion. Cupping is typically added into a deep-tissue massage.

Remedial Exercise
Reflexology is the application of pressure to areas on the hands or feet. Reflexology is generally relaxing and may help alleviate stress. The theory behind reflexology is that areas of the foot correspond to organs and systems of the body. Pressure applied to the foot is believed to bring relaxation and healing to the corresponding area of the body
People of all ages can benefit from Massage Therapy. Children with specific physical ailments or youth that engage in sports are prone to injury or stress on their joints and tissue as they are growing. Massage Therapy can help to treat and prevent trauma or injury in even the smallest people in our lives!
Rem/Ex is an important part of the treatment plan designed by your RMT. It is important to be an active participant in your own health and recovery and doing these prescribed remedial exercises can help to quicken your recovery time. It can include stretches or strengthening exercises..
